Sam Whittam, General Manager and Founder, is the genius behind the creation and implementation of Adventure HQ, the first outdoor adventure store in the UAE where customers can embark on an adventure while they shop.

With over 20 years of retail experience, Sam is committed to building Adventure HQ into a world class brand, with a focus on delivering excellence in the stores built, products offered and the service provided.

Prior to creating Adventure HQ, Sam was a part of the founding team of Australia's largest outdoor retailer and the proud founder of a top class bike brand, offering bikes, cycle wear, helmets and accessories.

A competitive cyclist for over 20 years, Sam's passion extends from the stretching roads to mountainous terrains.  His craving for adrenalin and new experiences led him to cycle the Tour de France circuit in 2011 and embark on challenging journey of the Alps in Switzerland.

Elham Al-Qasimi, brand ambassador, personifies an adventurous, inspirational and dynamic spirit, analogous to the Adventure HQ brand.

Having lived in the United States, United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, Elham has experienced adventure across the globe.  She currently resides in the Dubai and embodies the Adventure HQ vision to inspire people to discover the great outdoors, tackle new challenges and realise their dreams.

In true Adventure HQ spirit, Elham successfully completed an unassisted expedition to the North Pole in April 2010.  During the 3 week journey, Elham skid cross-country to the North Pole and became the first Arab woman to set foot on the northernmost tip of the world and the first UAE national to ski to the North Pole without assistance or support.

Elham's sense of adventure provided the determination to begin planning her next big expedition, with the support of Adventure HQ cheering her along the way!

Dave Johnston, Head of Merchandise, is responsible for the hundreds of brands and thousands of adventure items available at Adventure HQ.  His aim is to deliver the most sought after labels and equipment to cater to all enthusiasts, from the novice to the adventure expert.

With a focus on educating and motivating the community to embrace their adventurous spirit and discover the outdoor environment, Dave is confident that Adventure HQ will help increase outdoor participation while encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Prior to joining Adventure HQ, Dave gained extensive experience in the field of outdoor adventures, including starting new businesses, developing brands and establishing continued partnerships.

With an obsession for outdoor adventure, Dave prefers to spend his time climbing rocky mountains, exploring vast terrains and enjoying the tranquillity and scenery while surrounded by breath taking views.

Brendan Cottle, Head of Operations and Human Resources, is the brains behind processes, procedures and human capital at Adventure HQ.

Brendan brings his extensive experience to Adventure HQ where he hopes to apply his knowledge and skill to contribute to the regional and international development and recognition of the brand.  He looks forward to playing a key role in the continuous development of the store design, retail technology, operational process and customer service.

Brendan's experience includes working with well established brands in most parts of the GCC and South Africa.  He is inspired by instrumental business leaders who have successfully created thriving brands and retail operations in an international arena.

With an appetite for sport and adventure, Brendan welcomes the thrill of adrenaline.  He also enjoys exploring new countries and depicting the local people, food and culture through the lens of his camera.

Graeme, Store Manager, is committed to delivering the Adventure HQ promise of providing an impeccable shopping experience.  Focusing on highly trained, customer driven, specialist staff with a passion for the outdoors, Graeme aims to create an environment which caters to both the adventure notice and the experienced pioneer.

Prior to joining Adventure HQ, Graeme gained extensive experience in all areas of the retail arena and across a variety of industries.  His work has taken him from all parts of South Africa to the sandy surroundings of the UAE.

Graeme's adventurous nature is highlighted in his passion for climbing mountains, deep-sea fishing, camping in Africa's planes and ocean kayaking.  His commitment to health and wellbeing is further evidenced by his participation in the Men's Fitness Challenge in South Africa, where only 10 competitors were considered suitable for the challenge.
